Singapore

Luke Kibet broke the course record at the Singapore Marathon, with a winning time which was about an amazing 2 minutes faster than last years time. In fact it was a Kenyan 1-2-3 as they sweeped all the podium places at the event. Kibet  clocked 2:11:24 which was almost two minutes faster than his winner timefrom [...]

The 2nd edition of the Adidas Sundown Marathon in Singapore started at 7 pm on Saturday, May 30th, and some runners might still be on road as I write this on Sunday morning. About 10,000 runners took part in this night 84km ultramarathon (which also includes the standard 42K marathon, and a 10K run). As per reports [...]

I read about this unique event held recently (May 31st, 2008) in Singapore city. It had Marathon (42K) and an Ultramarathon (84K) as the main events, with both starting late in the evening. The Ultra guys probably ran it from after sunset to post sunrise. Amazing!!!! What really stood out was the level of participation [...]

End of the taper days

November 26, 2007

This weekend finished what was the last week before the Singapore marathon week. It has been some really lazy couple of weeks now, not too much of running, smaller distances. I ran a fastish 10k midweek to check up on my pace, did it at 6:10 compared to the 6:24 target. Today was a longer [...]

Final big run before Singapore

November 13, 2007

Yesterday evening, I ran my final long run, and from now on, its taper time. I ran a distance of 34.75 KM as per my Polar RS200SD footpod, which would translate into actual run distance of 33 KM, given a 5% calibration error (my 21K at Vodafone half was shown as 22K). Total time taken [...]

Less that a month remaining (26 days to be precise) for my second full marathon. I skipped an entire week’s of practice after the Delhi Half marathon on Oct 28th. Did a 27K run last weekend though I was planning to do a 30K. But with no running all of last week, my legs were [...]
