New York City Marathon 2011 Results
Nov 6, 2011. This is the largest marathon ever, with 47,107 starters! Firehiwot Dado of Ethiopia wins the women’s race in 2:23:15! Buzunesh Deba is second 3 seconds back and Mary Kietany of Kenya third after leading for most of the race. Geoffrey Mutai wins the men’s race, and breaks course record by more than 2 minutes! It is after all a record breaking year. All top-3 runners ran better than existing CR of 2:07:12. American Meb Keflezighi is sixth in 2:09:13.

New York City Marathon 2010 Results
A record 45,344 runners took part on the 2010 marathon, with marathon debutant Gebre Gebremariam of Ethiopia taking the title in 2:08:14. The women’s run was won by 31 year old Edna Kiplagat of Kenya in a race which saw the American Shalane Flanagan coming second in her debut marathon.
