July 29, 2012. NYC Half champion Peter Cheruiyot Kirui was the runaway winner here, breaking away from the field at 11 kilometers and coming within six seconds of Geoffrey Mutai’s course record at this high altitude race. Gladys Cherono, 2012 African Championships 5000m and 10000m gold medalist, easily captured the women’s title in 1:13:27.
