Results for 2012 London Olympics Women’s 3000 meters Steeplechase race are published below. Galkina Gulnara of Russia holds the world record and Olympic record in this event with the time of 8:58.81. Yuliya Zaripova from Russia won the women’s 3000m steeplechase final in a time of nine minutes 6.72 seconds at the London Olympics. Habiba Ghribi from Tunisia was second and Sofia Assefa from Ethiopia was third.

2008 Beijing Olympics Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Results
In the final Gulnara Samitova-Galkina of Russia became the first woman in history to run under 9 minutes for the steeplechase with a time of 8:58.81. Eunice Jepkorir of Kenya trailed by 9.60 seconds to claim the silver medal in 9:07.41. She outsprinted another Russian Ekaterina Volkova in the final 100 meters to catch the medal and broke the African record. Volkova, last year’s gold winner at the Osaka world championships, had to settle for the bronze in 9:07.64.
