Results for 2012 London Olympics Men’s 100 meters race are published below. Defending champion Usain Bolt from Jamaica and teammate Johan Blake are the two athletes to watch out for at this event. The Bolt-Blake, all-Jamaican throwdown is the most anticipated event of the Games. This year Bolt has struggled with a hamstring injury and balky back and was beaten by Blake in the Jamaican trials in both the 100 and 200.
The United States’ competitors in the men’s 100 meter dash include two Olympic veterans in the middle of comebacks (Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay), and one up and coming sprinter who is competing in his first Olympics (Ryan Bailey). Notably absent from the list is Walter Dix, who won the bronze in 2008.
