Nov 10, 2012. Ryan Hill, the former NC State star, beat Jake Riley, the former Stanford star, by one second. In the women’s 8-K, former Shippensburg State star Neely Spence broke Magdalene Mukunzi’s five year-old course record by two seconds, whil her 50 year-old father Steve won the masters title.

Nov 12, 2011. In the HCA Virginia 8K, Charlottesville’s Donnie Cowart ( 22:56.20 ) inched past Julius Kogo of Kenya ( 22:57.26 ) in the closest 8K finish in memory. On the female side, 21 yr old Almestsehay Misganaw captured first place with a time of 26:17.

HCA Virginia 8K 2010 Results
DANIEL KIPKOECH finished two seconds ahead of fellow Kenyan Linus Maiyo to win the men’s division of the HCA Virginia 8K today in 23 minutes and 7 seconds. In the women’s division Samia Akbar of Herndon crossed the finished line well ahead of Ataleleth Asfaw of Ethopia in 27 minutes plus.
