The Amsterdam Marathon is an annual marathon race over the classic distance of 42.195km held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands since 1975. It is rated as one of the top 10 marathons in the world by Runners World. There are five events scheduled: the marathon, the Mizuno Half Marathon, the 8 K Run, the 1K Runaway and the Mini Marathon.

Amsterdam Marathon 2011 Results
Oct. 16, 2011. Wilson Chebet has won the 2011 TCS Amsterdam Marathon. The 26-year old Kenyan athlete won in the capital in an unofficial time of 2:05:53. Chebet earlier this year won the Rotterdam Marathon. The women’s title went to Tiki Gelana. The Ethiopian debutant at the marathon ran a course record of 2:22:07.
Dutch runner Lornah Kiplagat placed himself in 2:25:52 to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Michel Butter from Castricum was crowned best Dutch at the mens marathon.

Amsterdam Marathon 2010 Results
A new course record of 2:05:44 was set by Getu Feleke of Ethiopia to better the previous best time set last year by Gilbert Yegon of Kenya by 34 seconds. The women’s race was was won by Alice Timbilil of Kenya in 2:25:03.
