In 2008 and 2009 the World’s Best 10K received an IAAF Gold Label, award that recognizes the efforts employed over the years to build the race into one of the world’s leading road race. Course / Route Map

The Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, is a salient feature of the course, being crossed in both directions by runners in the first half of the race. By adding cloverleaf turnarounds on either end of the bridge, a relatively flat, closed-loop course of almost exactly 10,000 meters is laid out. The perfect setting of a 2.5-kilometer bridge over the beautiful San José Lagoon, provides the unique feature of allowing the front-runners to be able to see the rear runners at least twice during the race.
