Singapore Marathon

Singapore Marathon is held on the first Sunday of December in the city of Singapore. Organised by the Singapore Sports Council (SSC), the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore is Singapore’s marquee running event, and is one of the highlights of the local sports calendar. Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon is one of the largest and most popular road races in the Asia. It began with just 6,000 runners in 2002, reaching a peak of 65,000 runners in 2011. The race sees a record number of runners taking part in the race.

It is an IAAF  Silver Label Road Race. Ther were more than 12,000 finishers in the marathon alone in 2012.

Early bird entry fees for the marathon is $70.00. Both online and walk-in registration can be done. To participate in Singapore Marathon you can register in the official website.

Course / Route Map

The event will feature three different start points and routes for the FullMarathon, Half Marathon and 10km, providing scenic views of Singapore’s iconic landmarks and neighbourhoods including Orchard Road, Chinatown, Sentosa, Singapore Flyer and Esplanade. The marathon starts at Orchard Road. The marathon route has been specially selected to give runners an essence of Singapore. Feel the pulse of fun and entertainment in Orchard Road to the historical Fort Canning, and onto Shenton Way, the hub of the business district. Step into the scenic coastal roads of East Coast and bask in the glamour of Marina Bay. There’s a surprise at every turn. Take it in your stride!

Water Stops & Refreshments

Water stations are located at every 2-3 kms of the course. Isotonic water – at 13 stations, Energy gel – 2 stations, Banana – at 29.5 km.
