The Shamrock Shuffle, the world’s largest 8K road race, is the traditional kick-off to the outdoor running season in Chicago for recreational and veteran runners alike. It starts and finishes in Chicago’s Grant Park and mirrors segments of the famed Chicago Marathon route. The run is one of the most anticipated and recognized running events in Chicago and is one of the biggest races in the US. All participants will be assigned to one of two Start Waves with separate start times and Gear Check locations.
The first-ever USATF National Club Team 8 km Championships will be held as part of the 2013 event. This elevates the elite-level competition, attracting competitive club teams and athletes from across the country to vie for a national title and a share of the $20,000 prize purse. The 33rd Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K in 2012, had participation of a record 34,372 runners, beating the previous record set last year by nearly 2,000 finishers.

You can register on the official website of Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle. The field size will be capped at a maximum of 40,000 participants. Registration will close when the maximum is reached. The registration fee is $50.
Course / Route Map
The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K course starts and finishes in Chicago’s Grant Park and mirrors segments of the famed Chicago Marathon route. The race begins at the intersection of Columbus Drive and Monroe Street and conclude with live musical entertainment at the traditional Post-Race Party in Grant Park. The course is flat and fast.
Baby joggers, strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles or any other wheeled device will not be permitted on the course.

The course time limit is 1 hour and 15 minutes (h:mm:ss/1:15:59). The race will be time using B-Tag Timing Device.

Water Stops & Refreshments
There are two course Aid Stations, located at approximately Miles 2 and 4. Lemon-Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula is offered on the course.
