Salzburg Marathon (official name: Salzburg AMREF Marathon) is a spring marathon, that is organized in Salzburg, Austria, by the club running pulse, since 2004. The program also includes a half marathon, which has been staged since 2001, a relay marathon, a 5km run and a quarter marathon. Runners enjoy the athmosphere of the famous Old Town running through Mozarts birthplace Salzburg. The event supports AMREF, a medical and research foundation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, that works on better health care for people in Africa.

Registration
The entry fees is 40 € for the marathon if registered earlier. To participate in Salzburg AMREF Marathon you can register in the official website.
Course / Route Map
The course consists of two 21,1km laps and leads through the most beautiful sites of Salzburg. It is paved, flat (maximum vertical drop 10m) and certified by IAAF/AIMS. The race starts at Griesgasse/Hanuschplatz and finishes in front of the festival house/Hofstallgasse inmidst the old town of Salzburg. The course heads the runners through Nonntal and the Hellbrunn Alley to the south of the city, past the Castle Hellbrunn, continue on Morzg and Leopoldskron, Riedenburg, Mülln, fief, the Mirabell Palace again on the main bridge into in the old town to the finish area on Hofstallgasse directly in front of the Grosses Festspielhaus .
