Ragnar Relay Washington DC is a relay race which covers a distance of 193-miles from Cuberland to Washinton D.C. The relay team will consist of 12 members (or 6 for Ultra teams). During the relay, each team member runs three legs, each leg ranging between 3 – 8 miles and varying in difficulty. So, from the elite runner down to the novice jogger, it’s the perfect relay race for anyone. This unique relay format makes the Ragnar Relay an accessible race for beginners yet challenging enough for the most competitive runners.

The participants run through 200 miles of stunning scenery in Potomac River Valley. Starting near the town of Cumberland, Maryland, the team will head east through the thick forests of the Appalachian Mountains. Around nightfall the runners run through the quiet streets of many charming historic Civil War-Era towns, ultimately passing within the shadows of the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. The race will wrap up on the shores of the Potomac River and ends at National Harbor in Washington DC.
