The Paavo Nurmi Marathon is named after Paavo Nurmi, the 9 fold Olympic Gold Medallist and the Athlete of the 20th century. The marathon takes place in the town of Turku, hometown of Paavo Nurmi. The event centre, with all the main events of the marathon, the start, and the finish are located in the centre of Turku, on the east side of the river Aura beside and around the City Theater (Kaupunginteatteri). Paavo Nurmi Marathon offers three different courses to explore Turku by foot – full marathon, half marathon and 10km run – in the footsteps of legendary Paavo Nurmi.

The entry fee is 34 € for the marathon if registered earlier. To participate in Paavo Nurmi Marathon you can register in the official website.

Course / Route Map

The event centre, with all the main events of the marathon, the start, and the finish are located in the centre of Turku, on the east side of the river Aura beside and around the City Theater (Kaupunginteatteri). Marathon Travels point-to-point paved course along beautiful northwoods backroads. The route in marathon and half marathon passes through the city centre and the Ruissalo island. The length of one lap is halfmarathon, 20097,5 m, so full marathon consists of two laps. The 10km course follows mainly the marathon course and has the turning point near the Turku harbour, so the course doesn’t visit the Ruissalo island.
