Oakland Marathon is held during the Oakland Running Festival weekend in Oakland, California. Oakland Running Festival includes a half marathon, marathon relay, 5K race and kids fun run too. Lake Merritt and Snow Park serve as a spectacular backdrop for the event. Free entry into the marathon is given to men with a qualifying time of 2:35 or under, and to women with a qualifying time of 3:00 or under.

Course / Route Map
The marathon starts and finishes at beautiful Snow Park. Lake Merritt and Snow Park will serve as a spectacular backdrop and will leave a lasting memory for runners and fans. The course heads the runners through Oakland hill and dale, across streams, through parks and city neighborhoods.
The participants pass through Piedmont Ave, Telegraph Ave , Coronado Ave, College Ave, Claremont Ave, McMillan St, Broadway Terrace, Duncan Way, Mountain Blvd, Trafalgar Pl, Lincoln Way, Foothill Blvd, International Blvd, Jackson St, Mandela Pkwy , Hannah St , Lakeshore Ave, Lakeside Dr and Telegraph Ave to reach the finishing point.
Time Limits & Cutoffs
The course will remain open for 7 hours, closing on a continuous pace of 16:00 minutes per mile.

Water Stops & Refreshments
- On the Course there will be 15 aid stations on the marathon course.
- At each station we will offer water and Gatorade- lemon lime.
- Select locations will also offer fruit, salty snacks, various flavored GU Energy Gel.
