Nainital Monsoon Mountain Marathon

Nainital Mountain Monsoon Marathon is a unique concept brought together by the like-minded youth associated with the organisation “Run2Live” that believes in bringing a change. Run2live was founded on 7th of August 2007, with an aim to help and encourage the underprivileged sportsmen.

Run2Live, not only helps in terms of money but we also train the athletes. Depending upon the potential of an individual, we do our best for his/her growth. We help the individual in finding a school that encourages sports by providing free education, proper nutritious diet and if necessary find an appropriate coach for the individual. In case, if an individual is exceptionally good in any other sport, we do our best to attach him or her to a higher training centre across the nation. If a small monetary help is required, it is provided from the accounts of “Run2live”. This account is funded by the yearly subscriptions of the members. But if a bigger amount is required to fund the training and education of an underprivileged sportsperson then we talk with different organisation or institute and the amount is directly transferred into the concerning person’s account.

Each year members of “Run2live” participate in various events to collect funds for its charitable work. This year three of our members ran the 100k Trailwalker held in Bangalore and collected more than 60000/- INR for charity.

We run because we want to see a healthier world and a strong society. We run to accept the challenges of Body- Mind and Soul and we bring together all those who want their voice to be heard, heard not by the noise but by solidarity.

Event Details & Motivation

With this in mind, every year on the last Sunday of the month August, “Nainital Mountain Monsoon Marathon” is held. The prime goal of NM3 is to entertain with a mission and not just have fun. NM3 is exclusive in more than one ways. For those who have an inborn passion for marathons it’s terrain will challenge you to show your full potential. The adventurous mountain route, the misty weather will all enhance your experience. For those who love nature there can be nothing better than running along the velvet green grass, as flowers pop their head out amidst the bird tweeting here or a butterfly flying there. You will forget you are running! For those who want to see a change in society and believe every single step is a mile stone towards building a healthy and strong nation –come and run. NM3 will give you a feeling of connecting with God’s creation. Remember it’s all about the process of running and not about the destination—or the results; it’s about the passion to be a part of the cause and run!

Emerald green lake nestled amidst the lofty mountains is an invitation in itself for you to come and be a part of the marathon. But as “Nainital Mountain Monsoon Marathon” celebrates its third birthday this year, it invites you to come and run along to support the cause “Concern for the BLIND”. The funds collected during the course of the event will go to support the issue.

It’s an invitation to run for a cause and not just for yourself. It’s an opportunity to show your support to the cause. It’s the time to participate and be the instrument in bringing the much needed change in the society.
