Marathon Des Alpes Maritimes, also known as the French Riviera Marathon takes place on part of the coast of the Alpes-Maritimes, between Nice and Cannes. Started in 2008, it is considered the second race in the number of French participants behind the Paris Marathon. The riders are confronted along the shores of 42.195 km of road from the sea, the plot bordering beaches, coves and rocky shores. A relay marathon is also held along with the marathon.
Encouraged by Paula Radcliffe, women’s world marathon record holder and race patron, 12,814 runners were attracted to the 6th edition (2013). Of these, 8652 set off from the marathon start on the Promenade des Anglais to pass through seven coastal cities under sunny Mediterranean skies.

Course / Route Map
The course starts in Nice on the Promenade des Anglais in front of the ThÃ©atre de Verdure and will finish on the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes. The scenic route along the French Riviera offers runners a superb oppertunity to experience the famed seaside towns along the coast. Starting at the oldest gardens in Nice, the Albert 1st Gardens, the route takes runners on a beautiful course to Cannes passing Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes Juan-Les-Pins and Vallauris Golfe-Juan. The race will culminate at the InterContinental Carlton Cannes located on the Boulevard de la Croisette set against the backdrop of the stunning Mediterranean Sea.

The course is quite flat with the highest points being around Cap d’Antibes and the bay Golfe-Juan.
Time Limits & Cutoffs
The time limit for completing the course is 6 hours. the race will be timed using timing chip.

Prize Money & Awards
Only the 3 first men and women will be awarded after the finish. Age group awards will not be given.
T-Shirts, Medals, Certificates
The technical adidas t-shirt will be given to all registered runners. After crossing the finishline, you will get the finisher medal.
Water Stops & Refreshments
- On every 5 km, you will find aid stations in soft drinks (water and coke) and fresh food (fresh fruits, dried fruits, chocolate and sugar).
- The energetic station serving energy drinks will be at the 20 km and at the 30 km.
