The Lago Maggiore Marathon, organized by “Sport pro-Motion” Association, is held in Italy. The marathon will take place on the SS33 highway, offering a beautiful view to all the runners whose take part in the race. It is a IAAF/AIMS/FIDAL certified race and valid for 2011 Piemonte Regional Marathon Championship. It also includes non-competitive events like Couple Team Relay Race, Family Walk and Mini Marathon.

Course / Route Map

The race starts in Arona and finishes in Verbania, running along Piedmont side of Lago Maggiore through ancient villas, beautiful gardens and magnificent lake side views. The race finishes on the lakeside in Verbania Pallanza (near Town Hall). The marathon offers a fast course together with ideal conditions for good performances. It is a point to point course over the Marathon distance (42.195 Km – 26.218 mi). This IAAF/AIMS/FIDAL certified course is flat and offers runners the chance to achieve good results. The entire course is asphalted, close to traffic, free of cobblestones, with signs placed at every kilometer.
