Each year Kauai athletics comes alive with the buzz of the Kauai Marathon, Kauai’s signature sporting event which combines amateur and professionals’ in a 26.2 and a 13.1 mile event that will take them along some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The Kauai Marathon is in reality a rollicking 3 day event that showcases the best of the southshore of Kauai. The Carbo Luau loading party is legendary with great Hawaiian food. The Expo event takes place a day or two before the marathon day.

Registration

Early bird registration fees for the Marathon is $180 and for the Half Marathon is $ 85. To participate in Kaua’i Marathon you can register in the official website.

Course / Route Map

The Kaua’i Marathon and Half Marathon begin in Poipu, the world-class resort community at the sunny southern end of the island and run the first 11 miles together. The courses follow the contour of the scenic coastline, offering magnificent views of the island’s picturesque beaches, rugged volcanic peaks, and green tropical rain forests. The course then winds through misty Omao where the half marathon enters Kukui’ula Resort offering spectacular ocean views for the last few miles. The full marathon heads out to Lawai before climbing to reveal stunning ocean views at the top of Kalaheo. The remaining miles are a gradual descent until runners receive a rousing island welcome upon their return to Poipu Beach. The courses are USATF and AIMS certified.
