Course / Route Map
The course follow a clockwise, out-and-back loop course that starts and finishes in downtown Joplin. The first two and a half miles are mostly flat to downhill. The first significant hill starts where you turn right on Old 32nd St. The next hill is a fairly easy hill going into McClelland Park past the 4 mile mark. There are two short fairly steep hills on the back side of McClelland Park.
When you get on Crow Rd. a gradual incline begins and becomes a grueling section from 32nd St. all the way to the 8 mile point on 26th near Iron Gates Rd. That is a tough mile. Another gradual incline begins on Country Club Rd. south of 20th St. That incline continues for nearly a half mile after you turn back east on 13th St. From about mile 10 on to the finish line is mostly flat.
