Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Hyderabad 10k Run Foundation have come together to organize Hyderabad Heritage Marathon which takes the runners through the heritage sites of the city. This run consists of a Marathon(42.195 kilometers) and a Half marathon(21.152 kilometers).
This marathon is the first-of-its-kind in the country, not only with an intention to preserve and respect the heritage monuments, but also to bring about awareness on distance-running, with an emphasis on fitness. The run has been measured and accredited by Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS), and is only for runners above 18 years. The time limit for the marathon is 7 hours and for the half marathon is 3 1/2 hours.

The entry fees is INR 600. To participate in Hyderabad Heritage Marathon you can register in the official website.
Course / Route Map
The Run Starts at Chowmahalla Palace and ends at Qutub Shahi Tombs. The participants run through Charminar, High Court, Mozamjahi Market, Abids Public Gardens, Ravindra Bharati. Sailing Club, Necklace Road, Lumbini Park, Lakdi Ka Pul, Langar House, Golconda Fort and Taramati Baradarito reach the Qutub Shahi Tombs.

running has been a passion since it begin with the idea of losing weight, in my 2nd race held in Bangalore i came on the 15 place and that fire grew in me and begun to grow and feel like doing anything to be there in the race on that day , no matter what it takes . Congrulations , and I appreciate all runners to put forward your effort . gud luck in future.
Thanks a lot for information. But, yhe AIMS website has mentioned the date of Hyderabad Heritage Marathon as 30 Se 12. This run is AIMS certified. Probably you will have to correct the date of Marathon. I am confused
Thanks. Date corrected for 2012, earlier date mentioned was the 2011 run date.
