If you are looking for a Boston Qualifier time and are not a registered Japanese runner, avoid this race at all costs. Their statement on the website that they arrange runners in the order if submitted times is NOT true. Zones ‘A’ and ‘B’ are reserved for aforementioned registered runners, regardless of their entry time. So, there were many 4 1/2+-hour marathon runners in Zone B in front of 3 to 3 1/2-hour marathon runners in zone ‘C’, making the first few kilometers a dreadful chore to navigate.
