The Country Music Nashville Marathon in Nashville remains the largest running event in the state of Tennessee, bringing more than 30,000 runners and walkers to the Nashville area, along with thousands of spectators, friends and family. The Marathon is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. The events include marathon, half marathon and mini marathon.
The marathon was first held in April, 2000 when 3230 men 2589 women completed the event. As popularity for the event grew, a half-marathon was added in 2002. This was soon followed by the addition of a kids marathon. Over 35,000 participants took part in the 2012 event.

Course / Route Map
The Marathon courses feature a wave start and are as flat and festive as they come – perfect for runners and walkers of all ability levels. The route begins in Centennial Park and continues along many of Nashville’s sights including music row, Belmont University, the State Capitol Building, the Cumberland River, Shelby Park, Shelby Bottoms Greenway, and ends outside LP Field.
Time Limits & Cutoffs
The course time limit for the marathon is 7 hours . Runners or walkers who do not reach the cut-off location by this time will be stopped and shuttled to the finish line area.

Prize Money & Awards
Age group awards will be presented 3-deep in all divisions, for both the marathon (where applicable) and half marathon, for male and female categories.

All the participants will receive Brooks Technical Participant Shirt, Official Finisher Certificates and Finishers Medal.
Water Stops & Refreshments
There are themed water stations at every mile along the course.

The temperature typically varies from 54°F to 72°F and is rarely below 43°F or above 83°F.
