The Coimbatore marathon takes place in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The event was conceived by the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF) as a means to build awareness about its activities amongst the citizens of Coimbatore and to create a platform for one and all to contribute to the cause. By hosting the marathon every year on the first Sunday of October, with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, CCF aims to make the Coimbatore Marathon a permanent fixture in the running calendar of the country.
The beautiful vistas, the brilliant weather and the warm, hospitable people of the city are sure to make the event exciting – in all, this has all the makings of a not-to-be-missed occasion that the running community can look forward to every year. More than 10,500 participate in Coimbatore marathon.
The entry fees is Rs.750.00 for the half marathon and 10K run. For the 5K run the fees is RS.500.00. To participate in Coimbatore Marathon you can register in the official website.
Besides registering online at www.coimbatoremarathon.com, patrons could also register at the pre-event expo on October 5 at Brookefields Mall.
For an extra contribution of Rs. 500, you can dedicate your run to any person or cause by sporting a special second bib that can be worn on the back of your T-Shirt which says “I dedicate this run to ………”
Course / Route Map
The half marathon will start from Nehru Stadium. After covering some important parts of the city the course ends in Nehru Stadium.

The total prize money of more than Rs. 2 lakh was on the offer in separate categories for men and women. 21.2 km – Rs. 25, 000, Rs. 15, 000 and Rs. 10, 000. 10K Run – Rs. 15, 000, Rs. 10, 000 and Rs. 5, 000.
T-Shirts, Medals, Certificates
Finisher medals and certificates (to be downloaded online) would be awarded to participants.
