Bangalore Midnight Marathon was first organized in 2007 by The Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The marathon is the first of its kind in the world, being the only marathon that is run in the middle of the night. The only other similar run in the world is in Norway. This event, though being a night event, is run in full brightness, given that Norway is the country of Midnight Sun. The Bangalore Midnight Marathon has several advantages – traffic and pollution is less at midnight, the cool temperature of the night is also conducive for running. Large Display Video screens along the track, decorative lighting, live performances by rock bands & plenty of food add to the fun element of the run.
Marathon, Half Marathon, Target Open 10K Run, IT City Fun Run – 5Km, Corporate Relay Race – 40Km, Women’s Relay Race and 10K, Community Relay – 2.5Km and Airbus Corporate Relay are the events to be held.
The entry fees is Rs1000 for the marathon, half marathon and 10K Run with timing chip. The registration fees for these races without timing chip is Rs500. For IT City Fun Run the entry fees is Rs 300. To participate in Bengaluru Midnight Marathon you can register in the official website.
