Kip Kangogo won the men’s division of the 2010 Vancouver Sun Run. The 30-year-old Kenyan was third in the 2009 Vancouver Sun Run, and is a champion of the TC10K and the Vancouver Half Marathon. Malindi Elmore from Kelowna won the women’s division.

Indianapolis – Kenyan Festus Langat, now living in West Chester, Pennsylvnia, won the 2010 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon with a time of 01:02:51. Kipyegon Kirui, a 29-year-old Kenyan who trains in Durham, N.C., won the men’s marathon at the 2010 Pittsburgh Marathon in a time of 2:17:12. Alena Vinitskaya, a 36-year-old from Belarus won the women’s title in 2:42:33, beating 2nd placed Phebe Ko by more than three minutes.

Kenyan runners Thomas Omwenga and Emmah Muthoni won the men’s and women’s races at the BMO Vancuover Marathon on May 2nd. Canadian runners finished second in both the races to keep their flags flying.

Nashville – An American won at the Country Music Marathon and 1/2 Marathon for the first time in 11 years. Ilsa Paulson of New York City won the women’s marathon in a time of 2:33:39. The men’s race was won by William Najanjo of Colombia in 2:15:38.

On a day where Haile Gebrselassie took all the headlines with an easy 10K victory at Madrid, it was Cherogony Thomson of Kenya who won the Men’s Marathon in 2:11:27. Women’s Marathon was won by Desta Girma Tadesse of Ethiopia in 2:34:39 respectively.
