Bangalore – Leaving behind much fancied opponents in the form of defending champion Deriba Merga, Paris Marathon winner Tadese Tola, and 3rd place finisher from 2009 Wilson Kipsang, 19 year old Titus Mbieshei of Kenya won the 3rd edition of the Sunfeast World 10K run in Bangalore. The 31th edition of the GöteborgsVarvet Half Marathon was won by Kenyan Sammy Kiprono in a time of 1:01:10. A new 12K world record was made at the 99th ING Bay to Breakers 12K, which is one of the world’s largest runs. Lineth Chepkurui of Kenya won the race in a time of 38:07 to break her own world record which she had set just two weeks ago at the Lilac Bloomsday run.

Gebre Gebremariam of Ethiopia set a new Central Park record of 27:42 to win the UAE Healthy Kidney 10K on Saturday, May 15. Among the women, Buzunesh Deba, representing the West Side Runners, won the race in 33:09. More than 7,800 people finished the race.
