Tanvir Kazmi – About Me

I am a passionate runner and have been blogging about running in India, sharing news and updates, since 2005. This blog is an offshoot of my desire to keep the running community in India aware of any events happening in India and around the world, and in a small way, promote the running culture here.

An interesting incident brought me into the world of running marathons in 2005. As part of a time-management training, an activity was to identify a goal, and define small steps to achieve that goal, all within a defined timeline. Me, and my running mate Vivek selected ‘Running a Marathon‘ as our goal, and the rest they say is history. As a matter of fact, the first event selected, a Noida Half marathon in 2005 was a non-starter, as the event almost did not happen, but the same year saw the first Delhi Half Marathon, and there was no looking back.

Marathon / Half-Marathon run till date, and brief reviews of each event below:

Delhi Runners

In 2007, I started the Delhi Runners Google Group, a discussion forum for discussing anything related to running for runners from Delhi and its satellite towns of Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Recently, this forum was expanded into a full fledged website DelhiRunners.com which is an online community for runners to discuss running, be part of running groups, write their own blog posts and share experiences.

Delhi Runners also expanded its online presence to Facebook in keeping up with the social networking platform of choice for everyone! Delhi Runners now has a Facebook Group where members are kept informed about any group running event, and has a Fan Page as well, where runners can can show the world what they are passionate about!

I like your blog and your marathon reports. Impressed by your Chandigarh timings. Your website is a good motivator for amateur runners like me.

Cheers!
