This is why a ‘one size fits all’ approach will never give you the same comfort as Eargear custom earphones. The unique Eargear moulding polymer comes in two parts. When the two parts are combined the silicone begins to set and will be fixed to its permanent shape in only 15-20 minutes. The silicone easily bonds to any earphones and will retain its shape permanently, giving you a soft, sturdy and comfortable set of custom earphones that will last.
How To Best Fix Your Eargear
There are just 3 simple steps to be followed which will take just 10 minutes.
Step 1
Take out the white and coloured portions of Eargear material and knead them together until an even colour is achieved. Once mixed you have a working time of 5-10 minutes before Eargear becomes difficult to mould.
Step 2
Place your earphones in your ears so that they are comfortable. Split the Eargear material into 3 equal portions (one for each ear plus a spare if you need to practice). Mould over and around your earphones until you achieve a good seal and the desired finish. If you are making earplugs, split the Eargear material into 2 equal portions and mould straight into your ear.
Step 3
Wait 15-20 minutes for the Eargear material to set and carefully remove from your ears. It can help with removal if you gently pull on the top of your ear whilst gently levering the earphone out with your finger.
A brand new pair of custom earphones are ready to be used.
Eargear will fully cure after about 24 hours. After this it can be cleaned with a damp cloth, or if fitted to waterproof earbuds, washed under the tap. Do not use solvents or soaps to clean your Eargear.
