QUANTICO, Va. – (Oct. 12, 2012) – The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) has launched online the event program, “Salute” on the MCM website at www.marinemarathon.com. The full color 64-page magazine features the MCM Weekend of events, essential information for runners and spectators, the latest in results technologies, maps and unique participant profiles. Runners, spectators and the public can get their first look at the program online before the magazine is distributed at the Health & Fitness Expo presented by GEfrom Oct. 25 to Oct. 27.

The artfully designed “Salute” is the work of the students and faculty of the Northern Virginia Community College Communication Design Program’s NOVA studio. The studio is part of the Institute for Public Service on NOVA’s Alexandria, VA campus. The Institute is dedicated to applying the resources of the College to community work that support the public good.

“This publication serves as another example of the MCM’s valuable community partnerships,” says MCM Director Rick Nealis. “The MCM appreciates the dedication of the NOVA students and their advisers Angela Terry and Lisa Hill. The superbly designed program will serve as a memorable keepsake for MCM participants and their families.”

Copies of “Salute” will be available at the Health & Fitness Expo which is open to the public at the DC Armory beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25. The Expo will continue to be open throughout the day on Friday, Oct. 26 and on Saturday, Oct. 27. The DC Armory is located at 2001 East Capitol Street in Southeast Washington, DC. All MCM and MCM10K participants will pick up their event-day materials at the three-day Expo held prior to the 37th MCM on Sunday, Oct. 28.

More information about the 37th MCM is available at: www.marinemarathon.com

The Marine Corps Marathon honors the dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism of its participants. Runners from all walks of life participate in the largest marathon not to offer prize money, earning the name “The People’s Marathon.” The 37th MCM will be held on October 28, 2012 in Arlington, VA.
