Shalane Flanagan, a runner known more for her exploits on the track, won the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials this morning in Houston.

Local running enthusiasts may remember that Flanagan won a half-marathon race in San Antonio in November.

At the Trials In Houston, it was Flanagan, Desi Davila and Kara Goucher finishing 1-2-3 to qualify for the U.S. marathon team for the 2012 Olympics, according to the Associated Press.

Flanagan’s winning time was reported at 2 hours, 25 minutes and 38 seconds, ahead of Davilia (2:25.55) and Goucher (2:26:06).
