Todd Robertson, of Syracuse, has never organized a running event, but that didn’t stop him from putting together the first Lake Effect Half-Marathon and Moose Mile Run, scheduled for Feb. 25 at Onondaga Lake Park.

Registration is required for all participants. Robertson said Monday about half the spots are taken, and there’s room for about 250 additional runners. Half-marathon runners and walkers who register before Feb. 15 pay a $35 entry fee. Between Feb. 15 and race day, the fee is $50. Online registration is available at wix.com/winterhalf/home, and registration forms are available in local running and triathlon specialty stores. For more information, contact Robertson at 530-0801 or at danitodd@twcny.rr.com.
