Bangalore – Leaving behind much fancied opponents in the form of defending champion Deriba Merga, Paris Marathon winner Tadese Tola, and 3rd place finisher from 2009 Wilson Kipsang, 19 year old Titus Mbieshei of Kenya won the 3rd edition of the Sunfeast World 10K run in Bangalore. Mbieshei finished in 27:54.
In the womens race, a new course record was created as Yimer Wude of Ethiopia won in 31:58, beating much fancied Aselefech Mergia of Ethiopia, the defending champion from last year. Wude was 3rd placed in 2009 Delhi Half Marathon.
Sunfeast World 10K is an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, and just one of three such 10K races accredited with the Gold Label worldwide by IAAF.
