Prague International Marathon
The Prague International Marathon originated in 1995 and has been on a fast track to international acclaim since then. Marathon runners around the world associate the race specifically with its visually stunning course. Patrick Ivuti of Kenya returns to defend the title he won last year in 2:07:48, which took over a minute off the previous record, and was just five seconds shy of his all-time best. Yemane Tsegay of Ethiopia and Charles Kibiwott of Kenya are likely to challenge him for the title. In the women’s race, Helena Kirop of Kenya looks to be the strongest contender, with a 2:24:54 PB from Dubai in January. More here.
Vancouver Sun Run 10K
The Vancouver Sun Run is the 2nd largest timed 10K in the world. There were 55,858 participants in 2009, and more than 60,000 runners are expected to participate this year. The 2010 run will be the events 26th edition, The race route is scenic starting at Georgia Street before making its way through Stanley Park and along the shoreline of English Bay to Kitsilano. There is also a 2.5KM Mini Sun Run for the youngsters. Kenyan Kibet Rutto is the Sun Run Competitor to beat at this years event. More here.

Berlin BIG 25K
Mary Keitany, Paul Kosgei and Gilbert Kirwa from Kenya are running the 30th edition of the BIG 25 Berlin this Sunday and the organizers expect fast times, even a world record in both mens and womens races. The BIG 25 Berlin boost the strongest international field of any road race in Germany this spring. Organizers expect a total field of around 10,000 runners in the race, which also features a 5x5KM relay and a children’s event. More here.
OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon
The 34th Running of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon takes place on Saturday, May 8, 2010. The Mini has sold-out for the past nine years with 35,000 registrants, and an additional 4,000 participants in the Finish Line 500 Festival 5K. The Mini-Marathon is the largest half-marathon in the U.S., and overall, the fifth largest running event in America.
