Chris Solinsky created American history with a 26:59.60 run at the 10,000 meters at Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford University this weekend. He bettered the existing US 10K record in the name of Meb Keflezighi (27:13.98), from 2001, yes, that’s right, that’s 2001, its been a long time coming! In a race which started of with the buzz of Galen Rupp’s attempt to break the American record (which he did with his 4th placed finish in 27:10.73.
