Los Angeles: Wesley Korir of Kenya won the 25th edition of the Honda LA Marathon 2010 in a time of 2:09:19, the third fastest time ever at this event.
The womens race was won by Edna Kiplagat of Kenya in 2:25:38 in what was just her second marathon ever! For the first time after 5 years has the Russian monopoly on the womens title been broken.
The race was run in decent weather conditions, with 60 degrees (F), no real winds, and about 73% humidity. Another interesting fact from the organizers, this is the 12th straight time that runners from Kenya have won at this event.
A reported 25,000 runners started the race, a first for the event.
