Pre-race favorite Eshetu Wondimu of Ethiopia won the 30th edition of the Berlin Half Marathon in a time of 60:16. The 2007 course record of sub 59 of Patrick Makau was however under no threat. In the womens race, Pasalia Kipkoech of Kenya emerged the winner with a 69:43 win.
