Defending chanpion Bining Lyngkhoi (Army Sports Institute, Pune) won the 6th edition of the Kolkata Marathon. In the women’s event, Kavita Raut from Karnataka took the top spot. The event saw nearly 17,000 runners take part in the various events, 42.195 km Run (Men), 10.5 km Run (Women), 4.2 km Fun Run, and a 200 meters Wheelchair Run.

- Angad Kimar (Army Sports Institute, Pune) 2:23:30
- Bhairav Singh Lone (Madhya Pradesh) 2:25:30
Women’s Run (10.5KM):
- Kavita Raut (Karnataka) 33:37
- Preeti L Rao (Karnataka) 35:29
- Pampa Chanda (West Bengal) 35:57
The winners of the Men’s marathon were not able to meet the qualification time of 2:18 for the Commonwealth Games to be held in October 2010 in Delhi.
It was reported that 207 runners took part in the Men’s Marathon event, and 47 in the Women’s 10.5KM run.

I participated yesterday 21st Feb in Kolkata Marathon 2010. If you can run fast enough in heat and could complete the marathon in 3.15 hrs you can enjoy kolkata marathon (dont mind traffic).
