Results of the 7th Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (courtesy iaaf.org) are now available. Also, for the first time, live timing results for all participants for the marathon are available within 24 hours of the event on the timing partner’s website.
Dennis Ndiso of Kenya won the Mumbai Marathon to continue the dominance of Kenyan runners at the event. Ndiso finished in 2:12:34. Bizunesh Mohammed Urgesa of Ethiopia won the women’s race in 2:31:09. The elite runners failed to meet the organizers expectations of breaking the 2:10 barrier in the men’s race and 2:30 in the women’s race, in the hot and humid Mumbai conditions.

More details on the event coming soon. For the record, the event saw 3,500 registrations for the marathon, 11,000 for the half marathon, 22,000 for the dream run, making it an overall count of about 38,000 registrations.
It was also reported that 3,000 runners needed medical attention at the medical tents set up by the Asian Hearts Institute. Most runners suffered from cramps and dehydration under the hot and humid Mumbai weather.
