News (source): Come Feb 14, 2010, India’s first international triathlon will take off against the spectacular beaches of Goa, India’s no.1 tourist destination. India International Triathlon 2010 offers a unique Destination Race of 1.5K swim/60K bike/11K run. Apart from this, there are categories like the Olympic distance, Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon, 5K Fun Run and Kids Duathlons, to reach out to a wider audience and encourage participation across all age groups.
Update (Jan 26th): The event has been postponed due to lack of participation.

Run Infinity Recommendation: Though it is a first time event in India, the organizers seem to be taking in very seriously and trying to cover all the basic aspects of organizing an event which takes much more planning and effort than just a run. They even have 18 qualifying entries for Ironman Asia Pacific to be held in Dec, 2010 in Phuket, Thailand. A good bouquet of sponsors are supporting the event. Go for it if you are that rare breed of Triathlon fan in India, or just go for the fun at Goa with a nice vacation and a duathlon or triathlon to add to the fun!
