The Cologne (Koeln) Marathon is an annual marathon held in Cologne, Germany. Since October 1997 the marathon was held annual in early October. (Only in the years 2004 and 2005 it was held in late September). The event also sees a contest for inline skaters. They start ahead of the runners and try to finish the course in the time limit for skaters, which is 2:30 hours.
The 13th edition of the race saw a new course record being made by Ruto Kipkogei of Kenya, who won in 2:08:36, the first sub 2:10 time at the event. In the women’s event, German runner Sabrina Mockenhaupt won the race in 2:30:12.
Cologne (Koeln) marathon is an IAAF Silver Label Road Race.
