@JayKayEss: I agree, most of the marathon websites here are really poorly designed with a lot of missing info at event launch. But registrations running out so soon was completely expected, this happened last year too.

We would all love to have the race start earlier, but as far as the organizers go, they would probably want more people to watch on primetime television, which means late start. Thats so sad.

Well the official Mumbai Marathon site on Indiatimes is really pathetic - half the links end at a dead page that says "Coming soon...". I was waiting for the race routes and start timings to be announced, based on which I would have made a decision whether or not to enter the full marathon or the half marathon. Putting in an entry for both was a bit steep at 500 bucks each. But lo and behold - before any information was put up, entry to all races is full!!

The organizers really need to get their act together as far as keeping the website updated is concerned. It really is an essential part of the organization process and lack of information here takes something away from making it a truly world class event. And they've had seven years of experience!!

One critical suggestion: The start times of the two longest races - full and half marathons - needs to be as early as possible, to take advantage of the cooler weather. Both races should therefore have the same starting point, but different routes and ending points, and both should start at 6.00 am, or 6.30 am at the very latest if the organizers want natural light for the TV coverage.

This is the only fair way to conduct both races. Otherwise the full marathoners have ended up completing the race in blazing heat after 10.00 am - everyone knows that winter in Mumbai is not really cold at all!

- JayKayEss
