This event was launched in 2008 for the first time, with 273 men and 43 women participants in the Ultra with the winner Fabian William clocking 7:37 for the 84km finish, and womens winner Jeanette Wang clocking 9:14.
The 2008 event saw participation of 3600 men and 860 women in the 84km ultra run.
