IAAF does accreditation of road races every year and assigns Gold and Silver labels to those it selects, indicating the significance of the race. Last year was the first time that the Delhi Half Marathon was accredited with the Gold label. Mumbai Marathon has been assigned the Silver label.
In 2009, India retains its accreditations. In all, 19 road races were given the Gold and 29 the Silver label.

To get the Gold Label, a marathon must have five records that meet standards in both men’s and women’s races over the past three years. The men’s standard is 2:10:30 and the women’s 2:28:00 (info by donga.com).

Anyone know when the IAAF Running Road Show TV programme is back on the air?
@Pravin: No idea about any next Bangalore marathon, probably in the second half of the year. There may be a 10K in May.
