I just called up CROSSOVER consulting, the organisers for the 1st Lipton Bangalore marathon. I was informed that the event is on schedule for May 14th. The press release covering the event is supposed to appear next week.
Still early days… but I would like to give half marathon a try at Bangalore, and target breaking 2 hours.
UPDATE (Feb 20): The second Lipton Bangalore International marathon 2006 will be flagged off from the Sree Kanteerava stadium here on May 14, according to a release from Cross Over Sports Pvt. Limited, a sports management company. Lipton for the second year will be the title sponsor. Check news on the press release.
I have also started my training for the event (Half marathon), my first run was over this weekend (Feb 25), an 8KM stroll in the park!
UPDATE (Apr 9): The event stands postponed to September, 2006.

Keep watching the space at coindia.com (website of Crossover Consulting, the organizers of Bangalore marathon). Any registration info should probably appear soon on this website.

Anon,
I am myself not from Bangalore, though I know about a runners club called “Runners for Life”, details at:
http://groups.google.com/group/runnersforlife-bangalore
Am a runner, new to Bangalore and am looking for a local running club and/or running speciality store. Would like to run the 1/2 (or maybe the full) marathon in September but have not been able to find long, safe training locations. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you, in advance!
Came across this today

They talk of a half too.
5 am start doesn’t sound good though.
Karthik, what are your plans? Coming to Bangalore? I read in the RFL yahoo group that the event may not have a half marathon! I am trying to clear this with the organisers, I hope they have that, cause I am not in a shape to run a full here.
cool man….hope these guys stick to the date…

Am considering running the half here too.
Have you got any reviews/feedback for the last Blr. Marathon?
Cheers,
